Hope Po’okumu / Vice Principal – Full Time
  • Assists the principal in providing the overall leadership and management of the educational program for a school, and in overseeing the total school operation, including safety and facilities repair and maintenance.  
  • Assists the principal in promoting a positive school culture focused on what is most beneficial to students.
  • Assists the principal in creating an effective learning environment for student
  • Administers the student discipline program
  • Assists   the principal in addressing the developmental needs of students.
  • Assists the principal in addressing the differences in student cognition and achievement
  • Assists the principal in mobilizing the participation or employment of appropriate individuals to establish a positive learning environment for students.
  • Assists the principal in improving the quality of the learning environment by strengthening the knowledge and skills of the school staff including Instructional Personnel evaluation.  
  • Assists the principal in developing a shared strategic vision for the improvement of teaching and learning.
  • Assists the principal in overseeing the total school operation, including administrative, fiscal, and personnel   functions, and responsibility for facilities.

Educational AssistantSeeking mission-aligned, qualified individuals who povides assistance to professional educators, counselors, students and others by performing a variety of instruction-related and/or counseling or guidance support tasks. Direct contact with students and student management. Common academic, social, behavioral, and developmental problems of students, and the opportunity to observe the resolution of these problems by professional staff or participate in problem resolution under direct of professional staff. Use of instructional material, techniques and equipment, performance of specific instruction, counseling or guidance tasks and testing routines. Other related duties as assigned.

Seeking State of Hawaii Licensed applicant with HQT qualification. Preferred experience in a Hawaiian focused charter school, providing place and project based blended online curriculum.

CDL Bus Driver – P&S Endorsement
Mission aligned and values driven candidate. Primary responsibility is to drive a 72-passenger school bus for Kua O Ka La PCS activities which may be scheduled before school, during school hours, evenings and weekends. Manages students and other passengers behavior to maintain a safe and orderly environment on buses. Reports the need for discipline/counseling to supervisor and/or school administrators. Responsible for cleaning, and assisting with general bus maintenance, fueling, and making minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, fuses, etc. General cleaning of bus after use, including refueling. Reports any needed repairs or malfunctions to the school administration. Completes mileage logs to record number of passengers, fuel consumption, oil usage and change, and description of trips taken necessary repairs, etc.

• Any combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the ability required to perform the job, typically acquired through a High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to read maps and follow directions
• Effective communication skills and ability to relate to School Administration, school age students and student families
• Must be available to work flexible work hours 
• Must be willing to complete training program prior to driving
• Knowledge of and sensitivity to Hawaiian values
Other duties as assigned per Transportation Department
